Call for Nominations: Chapters Coordinator

The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) invites nominations for the position of Chapters Coordinator for a three year term (1 January 2012-31 December 2014).

The Chapters Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the Society's Distinguished Lecturer Program, as well as Chapter activities. The Chapters Coordinator is a voting member of the Membership Board and chairs the Chapters Committee. The Chapters Committee is responsible for creating and promoting interest in the Society’s activities by assisting the formation of Chapters within IEEE Sections; assisting established Chapters via promotion, topics, media, or technical speakers for chapter meetings; developing material to assist Chapters in the support of student branch chapter activities; providing liaison for the Society’s Chapters with IEEE’s Regions and Sections, as appropriate; and working to insure compliance of Society Chapters with IEEE’s requirements for Chapters.

Nominations should be submitted to John Treichler, SPS Vice President-Awards and Memberships, via j.treichler@ieee.org. When making your nomination, please provide the following information: Name of candidate, contact information, brief background, information about current SP, IEEE, or Other Society, as well other volunteer activities. Nominations must be received no later than 15 July 2011.
