Post-doctoral Scientist, Computational Imaging Theory, University of New Mexico

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of New Mexico (UNM) is searching for a post-doctoral scientist to work with Professor S. Prasad in computational imaging theory, including image characterization via statistical information and Bayesian analyses.

Considerable opportunity exists for interaction with scientists both at UNM and at several national/federal laboratories in the area engaged in a variety of imaging applications. The position will initially be for one year to start immediately but is likely to be extended by another year based on the presently favorable grant-funding scenario.

The applicant must have a PhD in Physics, Astronomy, Optics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and possess an excellent background in imaging theory, image/signal processing, and numerical optimization. Preference will be given to applicants with skills and experience in high-performance computation.
