Call for Volunteers - SPS Information Technology Committee

SPS is looking for a volunteer(s) to serve as a member in its Information Technology Committee. The committee mission is to oversee the overall software offered by SPS, including the main Society website(www.signalprocessingsociety.org), websites for SPS conferences, mobile apps, social networking (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc), content management systems (Joomla, Drupal, etc), backend applications, single sign-in authentication, security processes….See below for the solicitation. Are you passionate about IT? We are looking for volunteers to serve as members in the Information Technology Committee in an effort to organize, represent and improve Information Technology services and tools for the Signal Processing Society (SPS), working closely with the committee chair to set and achieve the desired goals. The IT SPS committee has a high visibility interacting with different societies to learn from their experience and propose solutions that have potentials beyond the SPS society. The Committee will be working closely with SPS IT staff as well as IEEE Corporate IT. The chair and committee members are responsible for highlighting the IT needs in the society, set goals, put a structured process and specifications and communicate with vendors for execution. The SPS IT effort will focus on four major areas within the society (but limited to): 1) IT for Technical committees 2) IT for Conferences 3) IT for Memberships 4) IT for publication and review Volunteers are invited to state which area(s) are of interest where they can contribute the most.
