We invite symposium proposals for the sixth IEEE Global Conference on Signal and Information Processing (GlobalSIP) which will be held in Anaheim, CA, on November 26-28, 2019. GlobalSIP is a conference of the IEEE Signal Processing Society conference that focuses on signal and information processing with an emphasis on up-and-coming signal processing themes.
Google recently announced a new labeled dataset of human actions taking place in videos, named Atomic Visual Actions (AVA). It densely annotates 80 atomic visual actions in 57.6k movie clips with actions localized in space and time, resulting in 210k action labels with multiple labels per human occurring frequently. Compared with existing datasets, AVA possesses the following main characteristics:

Alterations in brain development during infancy may precede the behavioral manifestation of developmental disorders. Infants at increased risk for autism are also at increased risk for other developmental disorders, including, quite commonly, language disorders. In this paper, the authors assess the extent to which electroencephalographic (EEG) signal differences in infants at high versus low familial risk for autism are present by 3 months of age, and elucidate the functional significance of EEG power at 3 months in predicting later development.

Overview
The Board of Governors of the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) has allocated $20,000 for Member-Driven Initiatives for the 2017 calendar year. The funding is open to all Signal Processing Society members, Chapters and Committees. However, all proposals must include the involvement of the local Chapter to encourage geographic development. Allocation of funds will be competitive.

Three new Members-at-Large will take their seats on the IEEE Signal Processing Society Board of Governors beginning 1 January 2018 and will serve until 31 December 2020. Nine candidates competed for the three Member-at-Large positions.
