An approach for the modeling and processing of biological signals is developed using graphical models. Graphical models describe conditional dependence between random variables on a graph.

September 1st Deadline Approaching: Cast Your Vote for Members-at-Large of the SPS Board of Governors

This year's election offers SPS members the opportunity to cast their votes via the web at https://eballot3.votenet.com/IEEE_SE for up to FOUR Member-at-Large candidates. Three will serve for a three-year term (1 January 2012-31 December 2014) and the fourth will fill a vacant Member-at-Large position for the 2012 calendar year. Ballots must be received at IEEE no later than 1 September 2011 in order to be counted.

News from the AASP-TC

The AASP Technical Committee had its annual TC meeting on Thursday, May 26, at Corinthia Hotel in Prague, Czech, where ICASSP2011 was held. We had a record high attendance and discussed subcommittee establishment, award nominations, job market page, and AASP challenges.

Publicize Your Society/Council Activities on the New Official IEEE Facebook Page

IEEE recently expanded its social media presence with the creation of the official IEEE Facebook page. NOTE: You need to have a Facebook account to "like" this page, view its newsfeed and create posts. The IEEE Facebook page joins many existing IEEE Facebook pages and groups and is designed to serve as the hub of all social media activities on Facebook. The IEEE Facebook page now totals more than 4,600 users, a number that is growing daily.
