Vancouver Section Hosted Mini-Symposium on Engineering for Biomedical Applications

Jointly hosted by Signal Processing Chapter, Communications Chapter, and Engineering in Medicine and Biology Chapter of the IEEE Vancouver Section, an IEEE mini-symposium on engineering for biomedical applications took place in Vancouver, Canada, on May 28, 2010.

This three-hour event brought together academic researchers and industry experts to review recent progress and opportunities related to engineering for biomedical applications. Dr. Arthur Astrin, President of Astrin Radio, gave a keynote presentation entitled IEEE 802.15 task group 6 (TG6) on body area networks. The keynote was followed by four short technical presentations. The timing and location of the event was designed to facilitate participation by attendees from the British Columbia, Vancouver Island, Alberta and Washington State. More details of the event can be found here.
