The IEEE annual election begins on 15 August and ends on 2 October.  All ballots must be received by 12:00 noon EDT USA/16:00 UTC. The IEEE Signal Processing Society is committed to ensuring that its members are prepared with sufficient information about the candidates in order to make their best-informed decision. 

Pierre Comon is currently Emeritus Research Director with CNRS. He received the Doctorate degree in 1985 from the University of Grenoble, and the Habilitation to Lead Researches in 1995, from the University of Nice, France. 

It is my pleasure to announce that the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) annual election will commence on 15 August, and your vote is more important than ever! This year, all eligible SPS Members will vote for the next President-Elect (term 1 January 2024 through 31 December 2025), in addition to the Regional Directors-at-Large for Regions 7 & 9 and 10 (term 1 January 2024 through 31 December 2025), and Members-at-Large (term 1 January 2024 through 31 December 2026) of the IEEE Signal Processing Society Board of Governors (BoG).

The Signal Processing Society (SPS) has 12 Technical Committees that support a broad selection of signal processing-related activities defined by the scope of the Society.

Millimeter wave (mmWave) communications provide a promising solution to meet the proliferating demand for high data rate because of large bandwidth. The current “boomingly” deployed fifth generation communication system (5G) has not actually touched the dominant frequency band of mmWave and thus can hardly enjoy its merit on dramatically boosting transmission rate, which motivates us to conduct research on the ultimate implementation of mmWave communications.

A coarse-to-fine SR CNN (CFSRCNN) consisting of a stack of feature extraction blocks (FEBs), an enhancement block (EB), a construction block (CB) and, a feature refinement block (FRB) is proposed to learn a robust SR model.
