Contests in Signal Processing and Machine Learning

During the last couple of months a few new Signal Processing and Machine Learning contests were initiated. Some of the ongoing ones with a strong relation to Signal Processing include a Kaggle contest for predicting hand movements from EEG data and one on forecasting quote prices of tubes in construction engineering.

JAMES L. FLANAGAN (1925 - 2015), a pioneer in the field of acoustics and signal processing died on Tuesday, August 25, at this home in Warren Township, one day shy of his 90 the next day. Flanagan’s legendary career was marked by a remarkable productivity of the highest technical and intellectual caliber.
