Gujarat Chapter Receives the Chapter of the Year Award

The IEEE Signal Processing Society Gujarat Chapter has been selected as the recipient of the 2015 Chapter of the Year Award! The Chapter of the Year Award will be presented at the ICASSP 2016 Awards Ceremony in Shanghai, China. The award is presented annually to a Chapter that has provided their membership with the highest quality of programs, activities and services. The SPS Gujarat Chapter will receive a certificate and a check in the amount of $1,000 to support local chapter activities.

Turner, Eric Lee (University of California, Berkeley) “3D Modeling of Interior Building Environments and Objects from Noisy Sensor Suites”, (2015), Advisor: Zakhor, Avideh In this dissertation, the authors present several techniques used to automatically generate virtual models of indoor building environments. The interior environment of a building is scanned by a custom hardware system, which provides raw laser and camera sensor readings used to develop these models.

Call for Symposium Proposals - GlobalSIP 2016

The fourth IEEE Global Conference on Signal and Information Processing (GlobalSIP) will be held in Greater Washington, DC, USA on December 7–9, 2016. GlobalSIP has rapidly assumed flagship status within the IEEE Signal Processing Society. It focuses on signal and information processing and up-and-coming signal processing themes. The conference aims to feature world-class speakers, tutorials, exhibits, and oral and poster sessions. GlobalSIP is comprised of co-located symposia selected based on responses to the Call for Symposium Proposals. Topics include but are not limited to:

Senior Member is the only membership grade that is eligible to be nominated for IEEE Fellow.
