Activity Report from the DISPS TC

The Design and Implementation of Signal Processing Systems Technical Committee (DISPS TC) promotes and supports activities of SPS in the several areas including (i) design, development and implementation of signal processing systems, (ii) design of algorithms with implementation in mind, and (iii) design of software tools and methodologies to support the design of signal processing systems.

Senior Engineer, University of Florida

The Electronic Communications Laboratory within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Florida invites applications for non-tenure track positions at the Senior Engineer level. These are research positions performing signal processing and/or hardware design for advanced sensors and communication systems. Experience must include one or more of the following: FPGA development (VHDL, etc.), Altium Designer, Matlab, Python, or C. Applicants must have a Master’s (with some relevant experience preferred) or a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

“Trends” Expert Overview Sessions Revived at ICASSP 2011

The breadth of topics in signal processing continues to grow, propelled by advances in digital signal processing theory as well as in new application domains. At the 2011 IEEE ICASSP in Prague, the program committee revived the idea of expert overview sessions called “Trends,” which are summary talks authored by the IEEE Signal Processing Society Technical Committees and presented by their keynote experts. Starting with the September issue of IEEE Signal Processing Magazine, readers have an opportunity to access the summaries of the Trends sessions.
