CALL FOR PROPOSALS Deadline: Monday, October 9th, 2017.
One-page proposals are invited for the annual Frederick Jelinek Memorial Workshop in Speech and Language Technology. Proposals should aim to advance the state of the art in any of the various fields of Human Language Technology (HLT) or related areas of Machine Intelligence, including Computer Vision and Healthcare.
The 16th International Workshop on Acoustic Signal Enhancement (IWAENC) will be held at Hitotsubashi Hall in Tokyo, Japan, on September 17 – 20, 2018. IWAENC was established in 1993, originally as the International Workshop on Acoustic Echo and Noise Control (this is how the abbreviation IWAENC came into use). It is the leading workshop in the signal processing community addressing theoretical and technical issues related to acoustic and speech signal acquisition and processing.
Scope:
The purpose of the Big Data SIG is to promote within the Signal Processing Community awareness of (and interest in) problems related to large amounts of data (Big Data). Its initial goal will be to provide a forum for key SPS volunteers to propose activities that would lead to increase awareness, including for example special sessions at ICASSP, special issues in journals, a GlobalSIP symposium, ad hoc retreats, etc.
This year, the Nominations and Elections Subcommittee of the IEEE Information Forensics and Security Technical Committee (IFS-TC) has called for nomination of new IFS-TC members (by September 30) and the new IFS-TC Vice Chair (by October 20). The nomination material for both calls shall be submitted to the IFS Nominations and Elections Subcommittee (email alias: ifs-election@ieee.org) by the corresponding deadline.
ScopeThough the IEEE Signal Processing (SPS) and Communications (COMSOC) Societies have evolved somewhat independently, the technical areas covered by the two societies are tightly and undeniably intertwined. In fact, in most problems, it is impossible to tell where the signal processing ends and the communications technology begins, and vice versa.
