ScopeThe Signal Processing Theory and Methods (SPTM) Technical Committee (TC) of the IEEE Signal Processing Society (IEEE-SPS) promotes activities within the technical areas of DSP and statistical signal processing theory and methods. The scope of SPTM has a broad span ranging from digital filtering and adaptive signal processing to statistical signal analysis, estimation and detection. On behalf of the IFS-TC Nominations and Elections Subcommittee, I would like to call for nomination of new TC members.
The elected new members will serve from 2019/1/1 to 2021/12/31. Since there are 10 TC members whose term expires at the end of 2018, we expect to elect 10 new members this time.
- Candidates can be self-nominated or nominated by current TC members, retired TC members, as well as established people in the IFS field.
The 2018 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP 2018) was held on April 15-20, 2018 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
This year's Interspeech conference took place in Hyderabad. This was the first time for India to host Interspeech and the organizers have done a remarkable job to ensure that it will be remembered as a truly special event. Immediately upon arrival to Rajiv Gandhi airport participants were greeted by volunteers, who promptly escorted delegates to numerous available taxi that took them to many hotels conveniently located in the Hitec area of Hyderabad, where Interspeech was hosted.
The IEEE SPS Speech and Language Technical Committee (STLC) has 53 elected members to help manage the ICASSP review process and run various aspects of SLTC business; the committee convenes at every ICASSP meeting to discuss SLTC business items and new initiatives. The meeting at ICASSP 2018 was full of information for members.
The Member Election Subcommittee of the Speech and Language Technical Committee (SLTC) is seeking nominations for new members for a 3-year term (2019-2021). Nominations should be submitted by filling out the web form at https://www.icsi.berkeley.edu/icsi/ieee_form. The nomination deadline is October 20, 2018.
