Underwater images are highly susceptible to quality degradation due to light's scattering and absorption [1,2]. Unfortunately, underwater images with deteriorating quality impose many limitations in following visual perception analysis and practical underwater applications.

SPS is now soliciting nominations for distinguished lecturers/speakers to serve for two Society programs. Nominations must be received no later than 31 May 2025.

On 2 June 2025, the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) will observe SPS Day, marking the day the Society was established in 1948.

The results are in for the IEEE SPS 2025 President-Elect Special Election. 

Dr. Shoko Araki is a Senior Research Scientist at NTT Communication Science Laboratories, NTT Corporation, Japan, where she is currently leading the Signal Processing Research Group.
