The Speech and Language Processing Technical Committee (SLTC) promotes and influences all the technical areas of speech and language processing. As year-end approaches, the TC is getting ready for the eleventh biannual IEEE ASRU Workshop that will be held on December 13-17 in Merano, Italy. 18 new TC members were recently selected from a larger pool of recognized international experts. Ph.D. and post-doc positions are available to work on fluorescence microscopy related projects in joint research group with University of Texas at Dallas and UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. The projects aim to develop novel imaging modalities, image processing and data analysis methods for fluorescence microscopy live cell experiments in particular single molecule detection.
