Society Officer Call for Nominations: Vice President-Awards & Membership

The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) invites nominations for the Vice President- Awards & Membership Officer position for the term 1 January 2011 through 31 December 2013. Greek Signal Processing Jam Held in Athens

The EURASIP and the IEEE Signal Processing Society Greek Chapter jointly organized a full-day event in October 2009 at the University of Athens: the inaugural "Greek Signal Processing Jam''. The event was envisioned as an opportunity to bring this community together, attract new talent to signal processing, and expose all to some of the latest developments in the broad area.

As the field of digital forensics has continued to grow, a central repository of Digital Forensic Database (DFD) is being created to help researchers, practitioners, and students keep track of published papers in this area. The DFD maintains a bibliography for technical papers in the field of digital forensics, and allows for a variety of search capabilities.

SPS Member Cioffi and Poor Elected Fellows of Royal Academy of Engineering

John M. Cioffi and H. Vincent Poor have been elected International Fellows of the Royal Academy of Engineering of the United Kingdom, two of only three engineers worldwide to be so elected this year. They were inducted into the Academy at its New Fellows Dinner on 9 November 2009, in London, UK. John Cioffi is Chairman and CEO of ASSIA, Inc., in Redwood City, CA, and Hitachi America Professor of Engineering, Emeritus, at Stanford University, where he received his PhD in 1984.
