Society Officer Call for Nominations: Vice President-Awards & Membership

The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) invites nominations for the Vice President- Awards & Membership Officer position for the term 1 January 2011 through 31 December 2013.

Please send your nominations to Theresa Argiropoulos, SPS Senior Manager - Operations, at t.argiropoulos@ieee.org or fax to 732-235-1627.  Nominations must include candidate name and contact information, as well as a brief biography of no more than one page and information about current SP, IEEE, or other Society volunteer activities.  Nominations must be received no later than 18 January 2010. The Vice President-Awards and Membership is a voting member of the Board of Governors and of the Executive Committee, and chairs both the Awards Board and the newly formed Membership Board; and acts as a liaison to the Board of Governors for the activities of the Fellow Reference Committee of the Awards Board and for the newly formed Membership Services Committee and Industrial Relations Committee and the Chapters Standing Committees of the Membership Board and the annual selection and appointment of Distinguished Lecturers.

The Vice President-Awards and Membership has overall responsible for the development, design, operation, and improvement of the Society’s membership development and service and award recognition system and process.  The Vice President-Awards and Membership must be an IEEE Fellow and must have received one or more Society awards.  The profile of the Vice President-Awards and Membership should bring positive attention to the awards program.
