Position Description: 

Position description: The research project will focus on developing machine learning/deep learning methods for fundamental computer vision problems including object motion tracking, segmentation, 3D reconstruction, classification and image captioning in 2D/3D images including RGBD images, remote sensing data, 3D CT/MRI medical images and biomedical text. The successful applicant will contribute to research and development of efficient and low cost machine learning/deep learning tools with potential application on autonomous driving cars, large scale 3D scene reconstruction, mapping and localization, video surveillance, human computer interaction, virtual reality, augmented reality, computer-assisted surgery and computer aided disease diagnosis.  The group’s works appeared in top journals and conferences including CVPR, ECCV, MICCAI, TPAMI. Qualifications: Successful applicants will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics and other related fields, and strong motivation to do cutting edge research in computer vision and machine learning. Additionally, strong quantitative skills and a strong programming background (Python,C++, embedded system) are desired. Previous research experiences in related fields and scientific publications in journals/conferences are appreciated but not required.
