The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) invites nominations for the position of Awards Board Chair. The term for the Awards Board Chair position will be three years (1 January 2017-31 December 2019).

Are you a practicing engineer who would like to attend ICIP 2016, but the cost of travel is too great? Talk to your local Chapter Chair about how you can qualify for travel support to attend the conference in Phoenix, Arizona, USA this September! The Signal Processing Society recently approved an initiative that would provide limited Society support for SPS Chapters to send up to two members each to the IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP [http://2016.ieeeicip.org]) from 25-28 September 2016.

The final round of the 2016 Signal Processing Cup took part at ICASSP in Shanghai. This year's international undergraduate competition explored using a time-varying signature embedded in media recordings to determine the location-of-recording.

The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) is honored to announce the elevation of 5 of its members to the grade of IEEE Senior Member. These members have demonstrated outstanding professional performance, exhibited professional maturity through long-term experience, and established themselves as leaders in their respective IEEE-designated fields of interest.
