Call for Editor-in-Chief Nominations: IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications

The Steering Committee of IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications (TWC) invites nominations for the position of Editor-in-Chief for the journal for a two-year term starting on 1 January 2023. The term is renewable for up to additional two years.

Co-sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) and the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS), TWC is a major archival journal that publishes very high-quality, peer-reviewed, original papers that significantly advance the theory and applications of wireless communication systems and networks.

Nominee:

The nominee must be a member in good standing in ComSoc and/or SPS. He/she must have extensive IEEE editorial experience, an exceptional research record, strong leadership, integrity and high ethical standards, excellent organizational and management skills, and a clear vision for ensuring the high quality of the journal and moving it further.

The duties of the EiC include managing the Editorial Board, identifying highly qualified and dedicated candidates for Editors and Area Editors, coordinating with the Executive Editorial Committee, interacting with authors, monitoring the review process to its timely completion, ensuring that the journal follows the IEEE policies and procedures, and complying with IEEE's and ComSoc's reporting requirements.

The EiC will report to the Steering Committee of the journal. He/she is expected to participate in the ComSoc Journals Board meetings during the ComSoc Publications Council meetings, and to organize and chair bi-annual Editorial Board meetings.

Please submit nominations by 31 May 2022 to Neelesh B. Mehta (nbmehta@iisc.ac.in), Chair, Steering Committee, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications. Please make sure that the subject header is “Nomination for TWC EiC”.

Nomination must include in a single PDF file:

1. Names of candidate and nominator. Self-nominations are allowed.
2. Summary statement of the candidate’s editorial experience, also including name(s) and contact information of EiCs who the candidate has worked with.
3. Statement of interest of up to 500 words outlining the nominee’s vision for the journal and special qualifications for the position.
4. Candidate’s CV (at the end of the file).
