SPS e-course: Digital Signal Processing: A User's Guide

IEEE-SPS/Connexions Project aims to provide High-quality open-access educational content for students, instructors, practitioners, and the developing world. This collection is intended both for the practicing engineer with a basic knowledge of DSP and for a second course in signal processing at the senior or first-year postgraduate level.

3 year academic post: Medical Image Analysis/Edinburgh

The University of Edinburgh is looking to recruit into a 3 year academic position in Medical Image Analysis, with a combination of research and teaching responsibilities. The purpose of this job is to develop the image analysis capability for research in Edinburgh; enhancing an existing portfolio of well-characterised image acquisition techniques; translating and simplifying these techniques for wider use by research staff, or to image analysis in other organ systems, as required.

The SPS Awards Board is now accepting nominations for 2014 major SPS awards. Nominations should be submitted to Theresa Argiropoulos (t.argiropoulos@ieee.org), who will collect the nominations on behalf of Jose' M. F. Moura, Awards Board Chair. The award nominations will be vetted by the Awards Board. Prospective nominators are encouraged to submit nominations well in advance of the deadline of 1 September 2014.
