The Nominations and Appointments Subcommittee for each Technical Committee is currently seeking nominations for new Members, as well as the Vice Chair position for some Technical Committees. Nominations for both positions should be submitted directly to each Technical Committee’s Nominations and Appointments Subcommittee. The IEEE Technology Navigator — an online tool that enables users to visually comprehend the connectivity between technical areas covered by IEEE Societies and Technical Councils through a horizontal interface — has received new features. A new tab includes openings from a given keyword search from the IEEE Job Site.

Beginning mid-June 2012, IEEE conference organizers will be submitting conference applications through IEEE Conference Exchange (ICX), a state-of-the-art information infrastructure that will support many aspects of IEEE conference business. Benefits to conference submitters include the option of saving applications in progress, an on-screen progress bar, automatic duplications check, webform tools, and the reuse of data for MoUs and Conference Publications (future). Organizers can also find status on their conferences immediately, without needing to contact IEEE.

The MIT Lincoln Laboratory Embedded and High Performance Computing Group delivers real-time embedded processing capabilities for a broad spectrum of military applications. To this end, the group applies hardware architecture design, embedded software engineering, and signal processing analysis to a wide spectrum of military sensors and weapons systems, including space-borne and airborne radars, submarine and ship-borne systems, missiles, and torpedoes.
