IEEE, the world's largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for humanity, and the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) will hold the 2024 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP 2024), 27-30 October 2024 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in Abu Dhabi, UAE. ICIP 2024 will be a hub of innovation and learning - examining how AI-based approaches in the field are bringing opportunities, as well as challenges.

Fernando Pereira is a Full Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computers Engineering of Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, and a Senior Researcher at Instituto de Telecomunicações, Lisbon, Portugal.
Member Highlight: Prof. Néstor Becerra Yoma
Néstor Becerra Yoma was born in Santiago, Chile. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh, UK, and his M.Sc. and B.Sc. in electrical engineering from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil. He is a full professor at the University of Chile. He started the Speech Processing and Transmission Laboratory, where he has investigated artificial intelligence and signal processing applied to multidisciplinary topics.
Industry Leader in Signal Processing and Machine Learning: Dr. Celia Cintas
Dr. Celia Cintas is a Research Scientist at IBM Research Africa - Nairobi. She is a member of the AI Science team at the Kenya Lab. Her current research focuses on the improvement of ML techniques to address challenges on Global Health in developing countries and exploring subset scanning for anomaly detection under generative models.

In accordance with the Bylaws of the IEEE Signal Processing Society, I am writing to solicit nominations for the Awards Board and the Nominations and Appointments (N&A) Committee. This year, the Society will be filling TWO positions on the N&A Committee for the term 2025-2026 and TWO positions on the Awards Board for the term 2025-2027.

Earlier this year, the Signal Processing Society Board of Governors approved the formation of the SPS Industry Board. The Industry Board reports directly to the Board of Governors, ensuring that an industry perspective is reflected in all society operations, including technical directions, conferences, publications, membership, education, and awards.
