News and Resources for Members of the IEEE Signal Processing Society
The Nominations and Appointments Subcommittee of each Technical Committee is currently accepting nominations for new Members, and where applicable, the Vice Chair position.
Nominations should be submitted directly to the respective Technical Committee’s Nominations and Appointments Subcommittee. The deadline for nomination submissions is 15 September 2025. Detailed election information, including the schedule and nomination form, is available on each Technical Committee’s website.
We strongly encourage nominators to prioritize engagement and collaboration in the nomination slate. This includes, but is not limited to: geographic representation, sector diversity (industry, academia, government), technical expertise, and young professional representation. All candidates must be current IEEE and SPS members in good standing.
New member candidates may either self-nominate or be nominated by current members of the Technical Committee. Once elected, members will serve a three-year term. Current TC members serving their first term are eligible to be nominated for a second consecutive term; however, they are note eligible to vote in that new member election nor participate in the Nominations and Appointments Subcommittee overseeing the election. After completing the second consecutive term, individuals must observe a mandatory three-year break before becoming eligible for re-nomination.
Newly elected members are expected to actively contribute to the work of the Technical Committee. This includes reviewing papers submitted to the Society’s conferences that fall within the committee’s scope, evaluating paper submissions for workshops organized or co-organized by the TC, participating in TC subcommittees, supporting the development of educational content, and fulfilling other responsibilities as assigned.
Nominations for the Vice Chair position are restricted to individuals who are either currently serving or have previously served as elected members of the Technical Committee. The Vice Chair typically serves a one-year term, unless otherwise noted and automatically succeeds to the roles of Chair and subsequently Past Chair.
Elections will be conducted by each Technical Committee based on its specific needs. Final election results must be submitted by 15 November 2025.
