Local Reach, Global Impact
SPS has several programs to support its growing network of Chapters and Student Branch Chapters. Student Branch Chapters, in particular, have seen tremendous growth since 2016, an increase of 126% over the past three years, driven primarily by Student surges in Region 10. In addition to promoting local growth by establishing new Chapters and Student Branch Chapters, the Society has prioritized local engagement, expanding programs, tools, and resources to help Chapters succeed, including:
- Local Events and Member-Driven Initiatives: Provides funding for local activities including regional meetings, forums, Seasonal Schools, and Chapter Initiatives.
- Chapter Certification Program: Rewards well-performing Chapters with perks, such as growth rewards for increased membership within the Chapter, funding for Students to attend SPS conferences, and more.
- Distinguished Lecturer/Distinguished Industry Speaker Programs: Each SPS Chapter receives up to US$3,500 per program, per year to use towards scheduling Society-appointed Distinguished Lecturers or Distinguished Industry Speakers.
