The Membership Board is delighted to announce the approved proposals for the 2014 Summer Schools under the Seasonal Schools in Signal Processing (S3P) Program in the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS). This program was established in 2010 as an outcome of the SPS Long Range Planning Retreat held during ICIP 2010 in Hong Kong. S3P seasonal schools are typically either Summer schools or Winter schools, and are geared towards providing graduate students, early stage researchers, and practitioners with background on selected topics in signal processing.

The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) is pleased to sponsor travel grants to student and non-student authors from developing countries.

The grants will be awarded on a highly competitive basis to a limited number of applicants who have a genuine need for financial support to attend ICASSP 2014. SPS membership is required and the paper quality will be taken into consideration.

GlobalSIP provides an opportunity for the Society's Technical Committees to hold their workshops in conjunction with GlobalSIP.

It has come to our attention that conferences with similar names, but not IEEE/Signal Processing Society (SPS)-sponsored, have been coming up on internet search results.

This year's SPAWC will also be co-located with North American School on Information Theory, June 18-21, 2014, which is a great opportunity for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows.
