News and Resources for Members of the IEEE Signal Processing Society

June 2010

You would be hard pressed to find a consumer electronic product that does not require digital signal processing. Consumer electronics is a big market—about US$165 billion this year, and the requirement for digital signal processors (DSPs) just keeps growing with the introduction of new, innovative products.

Learn about how DSPs evolve in consumer electronics applications through the Special Report by Ron Schneiderman in the IEEE Signal Processing Magazine (May 2010).

SAMIEEE is a web-based ad-hoc query tool that provides volunteers with the ability to gather useful information regarding their Chapter's membership data.

Images of the IEEE Master Brand + Tagline graphic are now available online in the IEEE Brand Identity Toolkit, under the Master Brand and logos section.  Use the IEEE Master Brand + Tagline graphic on materials when no other logo or logo with a tagline exists, as well as on all promotional items.  Use the IEEE Master Brand graphic (without tagline) for all other applications.

Learn more about the tagline at http://www.ieee.org/tagline.

Jointly hosted by Signal Processing Chapter, Communications Chapter, and Engineering in Medicine and Biology Chapter of the IEEE Vancouver Section, an IEEE mini-symposium on engineering for biomedical applications took place in Vancouver, Canada, on May 28, 2010.
