Postdoctoral Scholar in Neuroengineering at UC Davis

A Postdoctoral Scholar position in the area of Neuroengineering is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jochen Ditterich at the Center for Neuroscience, University of California, Davis, for developing a closed-loop neural stimulator for use in basic neuroscience. The project involves multiple investigators and is funded by NIH and NSF.

The successful candidate will be responsible for algorithm development, real-time implementation, and device testing in animal experiments. The candidate will further be involved in the presentation and publication of the results. Candidates should hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (like Biomedical Engineering or Computer Science) and be familiar with digital signal processing, in particular spectral analysis, and linear systems theory and control theory. They should further hold a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline and be proficient in spoken and written English. Prior programming experience is required, familiarity with development environments like MATLAB and LabView would be valuable, prior exposure to systems neuroscience research a plus.
