Nominations are due 1 July 2014 for the 2015 IEEE Medals and Recognitions.

IEEE Medals are the highest recognition within the IEEE awards hierarchy, with the prestigious IEEE Medal of Honor as the premier award. IEEE Medals embrace broad and significant contributions within the technical fields of interest of IEEE.

We are pleased to announce the details of the "MD Elevator Pitch Contest" and are encouraging recruitment and retention by personal outreach and contact.

There is no doubt that our Society’s interests continue to grow with astounding pace. So, 25 years after the name Signal Processing was adopted, it is timely to reflect on whether it continues to portray a true image of the Society’s activities. And if not, is there a name that can capture the Society’s scope better while at the same time improving its visibility? To participate and provide feedback, please go to the Power of a Name page.

All Section officers and Chapter/Affinity Group chairs have been contacted with a reminder that the following annual reports are required to be eligible for a rebate:

IEEE Sections Congress 2014 (SC2014) will be held 22-24 August 2014, at the RAI Convention Centre, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The primary audience for IEEE Sections Congress is IEEE members who are volunteering within the MGA structure (Region, Geographic Councils, Section, Subsection, Chapter, and Affinity Group), but volunteers from other IEEE units are encouraged to attend as well.

Nominations are due 1 July 2014 for the 2015 IEEE Medals and Recognitions. Nominations for IEEE Awards Board Chair, Vice Chair, or Member-at-Large are due 15 March 2014.

In 1994, the IEEE Board of Directors established the Women in Engineering (WIE) committee to support the recruitment and retention of women within IEEE. Since then, IEEE WIE has grown to 450+ affinity groups with 15,000+ members around the world. With over 800 outreach, humanitarian, technical, community, and professional events last year, WIE is impacting, enhancing, and enabling the lives of hundreds of thousands of women and young girls in communities worldwide.
