The ICASSP 2023 conference in Rhodes, Greece, was remarkable from multiple perspectives. Notably, this was the first fully in-person ICASSP after three consecutive virtual conferences, which were necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Attendees fully embraced the opportunity to engage in live interactions and reestablish their networks.

As a service to the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) community, the SPS Challenge Program offers support to challenge organizers. Submit a challenge proposal, due 1 September 2023.

Advanced driver assistance systems are key to enhancing road safety. One of the critical requirements for such systems is to reliably perceive the environment. The state-of-the-art sensors, however, are not ubiquitously deployed in driver assistance systems due to their high cost. On the other hand, simpler low-cost sensing solutions suffer from poor perception.

About the Project

Applications are invited for a fully-funded three year PhD to commence in October 2023.

The Signal Processing Society (SPS) conducts webinars presented by professionals in the field of signal processing and related technologies on an ongoing basis. Webinars are also hosted periodically by SPS Technical Committees, and other network of communities. Visit the Upcoming Events page to see a list of our upcoming webinars and join us!

The IEEE SPS ME-UYR (Mentoring Experiences for Underrepresented Young Researchers) steering committee will launch the second installment of its mentoring program for young IEEE SPS researchers and would like to invite you to join as potential student mentors.

The Nominations and Appointments Subcommittee for each Technical Committee is currently seeking nominations for new Members, as well as the Vice Chair position for some Technical Committees. Nominations for both positions should be submitted directly to each Technical Committee’s Nominations and Appointments Subcommittee. Please provide the name, contact information, IEEE member number and biography with the nomination.

The Signal Processing Society (SPS) has 12 Technical Committees that support a broad selection of signal processing-related activities defined by the scope of the Society.
