The Nominations and Appointments Subcommittee for each Technical Committee is currently seeking nominations for new Members, as well as the Vice Chair position for some Technical Committees. The Signal Processing Society (SPS) has 12 Technical Committees that support a broad selection of signal processing-related activities defined by the scope of the Society.
Professor Konstantinos N (Kostas) Plataniotis is the Bell Canada Endowed Chair in Multimedia and a professor with The Edward S. Rogers Sr. Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto (UofT) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where he directs the Multimedia Laboratory.
Dr. Arpan Pal has more than 30 years of experience in the area of Intelligent Sensing, Signal Processing &AI, Edge Computing and Affective Computing. Currently, he serves as a Distinguished Chief Scientist and Research Area Head, Embedded Devices and Intelligent Systems, TCS Research. He is working in the areas of Connected Health, Smart Manufacturing, Smart Retail and Remote Sensing.
The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) invites nominations for the positions of Awards Board Chair and Fellow Evaluation Committee - Chair and Vice Chair. Nominations should be received no later than 13 July 2023.

Millimeter wave (mmWave) communications provide a promising solution to meet the proliferating demand for high data rate because of large bandwidth. The current “boomingly” deployed fifth generation communication system (5G) has not actually touched the dominant frequency band of mmWave and thus can hardly enjoy its merit on dramatically boosting transmission rate, which motivates us to conduct research on the ultimate implementation of mmWave communications.
