The IEEE SP Cup is a competition that provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to form teams and work together to solve a challenging and interesting real-world problem using signal-processing techniques and methods. Three teams will be selected to present their work, and prizes will be awarded at ICASSP 2015. The competition title is:
Heart Rate Monitoring During Physical Exercise Using Wrist-Type Photoplethysmographic (PPG) Signals
This competition is proposed by the Bio Imaging and Signal Processing Technical Committee . For details of the competition project, please click here.
Participation in the Competition:
Each team participating in the competition is to be composed of one faculty member (whose role is the supervisor of the team members), at most one graduate student (who will assist the supervisor in supervising the undergraduate team members), and at least 3 but no more than 10 undergraduates. At least three of the undergraduate team members must be either IEEE SP members or student members.
Participating teams must submit their project by February 9, 2015 (extended.) Each submission should include a report, in the form of an IEEE conference paper, on the technical details of the methods used and the results, as well as the programs developed (MATLAB is preferred). Participating teams must register to join the competition by January 16, 2015. The online registration system will be open in September 2014. By March 6, 2015, the best 3 teams will be identified to participate in the final competition at ICASSP2015.
