Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering: Signals and Systems

Position Description: The School of Engineering at the University of Vermont (UVM) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Electrical Engineering at the Assistant Professor or, for exceptional candidates, Associate Professor level for a Fall 2016 start date. The school is seeking outstanding individuals whose research focuses on signal processing, control systems, sensing and measurement, cyber-physical systems, or communication systems. Examples of desired areas of application include, but are not limited to, power and energy, robotics, big data, computer vision, the internet of things, and biomedical engineering. Candidates are expected to hold a doctoral degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field and will be expected to contribute broadly to undergraduate and graduate education within the electrical engineering program, particularly in the area of signals and systems. The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching and/or service. The new faculty member is expected to maintain an active program of externally-funded research and graduate student advising.
