The IEEE Signal Processing Society invites nominations for the 2018 Class of SPS Distinguished Lecturers (DLs). Per the Board of Governors’ motion, in addition to appointing the normal five Distinguished Lecturers, this year the Society will also appoint a special Distinguished Lecturer in the area of Signal Processing and Machine Learning or Data Science for a two-year term.

For our April 2017 issue, we cover recent patents dealing with image fusion, including new general image fusion methods, and specific applications such as image stabilization, and medical image analysis.

NASA has released its 2017-2018 software catalog, covering a wide range of areas including propulsion, health and medicine, crew and life support, data and image processing, environmental science, and aeronautics. Overview
The Board of Governors of the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) has allocated $20,000 for Member-Driven Initiatives for the 2017 calendar year. The funding is open to all Signal Processing Society members, Chapters and Committees. However, all proposals must include the involvement of the local Chapter to encourage geographic development. Allocation of funds will be competitive.
