Signal Processing for Communications and Networking

The research group Communication Systems and Networks at Mid Sweden Sweden University announces one open Associate Senior Lecturer position within the area of wireless communication.  We are looking for candidates with experience and knowledge on: machine learning, artificial intelligence, radio resource management, spectrum management, and communication protocols. The applicant should have an outstanding research record documented by publications in high-ranked journal. The department of mathematics and computer science at the Weizmann Institute invites students for a PhD position in the areas of signal processing and machine learning with applications in communications, radar, medical imaging and optical imaging. The selected candidate will work with Prof. Yonina Eldar at the SAMPL lab. In the area of medical imaging, the work will be performed in close collaboration with leading hospitals in Israel and abroad. Some of the topics will be in close collaboration with PIs at MIT, Stanford and the Broad Institute.

The Position

The goal of the project is to design an architecture and self-learning algorithms that can optimize and guarantee deterministic QoS of individual traffic flows whilst maximizing network resource efficiency. The general QoS architecture for end-to-end communication of heterogeneous types of traffic will include routing and scheduling for each traffic type and admission control possibly with QoS renegotiations and with shaping and spacing.
