Position Title :  Sr. Acoustic DSP Engineer

Job Summary:

Sensory is seeking a polished, proactive and senior level Acoustic (Audio) DSP Engineer with extensive experience in audio processing for varied acoustic environments to work in algorithm development such as AEC, microphone array beam-forming, Noise Reduction, gain control, etc. (...test and benchmark the algorithms in different environments including the sound booth)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • DSP design and tuning for acoustic echo cancellation, beam-forming, etc. for active call quality, as well as best-in-class enhancement of speech recognition in noise.
  • Support customers with transducer design, selection, placement and turning; and acoustic enclosure co-design.
  • Learns and understands existing proprietary voice recognition algorithms in depth.
  • Implements voice processing algorithms and related software on hardware platforms.
  • Defines and implements simulation scripts for validating, evaluating, and improving the performance of algorithms.
  • “Ports” existing technology software to various platforms including DSPs.
  • Develops and maintains in-house and customer tools to support the application of Sensory’s voice processing.

Primary Skills/ Speciality / Technical Skills

  • Experience with AEC, microphone array beam-forming, Noise reduction algorithms.
  • Experience with audio signal processing algorithm implementation.
  • Experience with algorithm optimization and code optimization.
  • Experience with acoustic measurements and noise control, including using HATS and BT headsets
  • Experience designing benchmark tests to evaluate products and algorithms in this area.
  • Experience with C, Matlab and some other scripting language.

Education / Key Qualifications / Number of Years in Experience in Field/Career Required or Preferred:

  • MS in EE or CS.
  • 5+ years of experience in turning and deploying acoustic echo cancellation, beam-forming and noise reduction for mobile, TV, car and conferencing use cases in high volume products.
  • Broad and deep experience in signal processing for audio and speech.
  • 5+ years of experience programming embedded “C”, demonstrated by a primary programming role in one or more fully-released products.
  • Solid knowledge of analytic techniques, statistics, mathematical modeling.
  • Ability to develop software from existing code, detailed specification, or general conceptual outline.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems hardware, ADCs, DACs, ability to read schematics.
