Though the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic presented the world with unforeseen challenges, the IEEE Signal Processing Society is committed to exploring new ways to innovate, providing our global community with even more opportunities to connect, collaborate, and discover the latest research and breakthroughs from signal processing professionals throughout the world. Even if we weren’t initially seeing you in-person this year, we hope you’ll mark your calendar to and join us for these pioneering virtual events!

The workshop is 22nd in the series, organized by the Multimedia Signal Processing Technical Committee of the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS), with the aim to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry, passionate about multimedia signal processing, to share their knowledge, exchange ideas, explore future research directions and network.

Each month, the Chapter Briefs Newsletter will feature an OU Analytics Tip that will be helpful to all who utilize the OU Analytics tool.  This month's Tip features instructions on how chapter chairs can obtain data on arrears members (non-renewals) in their chapter, by society...

Heat-related injuries have long been a serious focus for the military, and the number reported cases has been climbing sharply in recent years. In 2018, statistics indicated that there were 578 diagnoses cases of heat stroke and more than 2,000 reported incidents of diagnosed heat exhaustion among active service members.

Accounts for ordering membership development materials are now created at the Section and Student Branch level.  New sign in credentials for the Marcore ordering portal were sent to MD Chairs (or Section Chairs) and Student Branch Chairs in early August. 

Members and non-members can add Society membership when giving the Gift of IEEE Membership. Help someone in your life find their professional home in IEEE. Start by giving them the gift of IEEE Membership and consider adding a Society or two!

Well, we're at the end of 2019. Most likely, this was like any other year for most of us. We had some successes and some failures, but overall, it's not a bad year. We're all getting ready for holidays, with our goals for 2020 slowly brewing in the back of our minds.

Due to overwhelming interest in Member Driven Initiative funding, the IEEE Signal Processing Society has changed its process for submitting proposals through the program. This includes proposals for Forums, Regional Meetings, and Chapter Driven Initiatives.
