How to incorporate financial signal processing into the undergraduate and graduate curricula? You can find suggestions in the column article “Incorporating Financial Applications in Signal Processing Curricula”.

The financial industry is currently dominated by a handful of workhorse models, such as the capital asset pricing model and the Black-Scholes options pricing model. Quantitative financial analysis is mainly based on statistics and economics methodology. Signal processing applications, which hold promising potential, remain relatively unexplored within finance.

Its applications for financial data would add a new perspective and could further enrich financial research.
