News and Resources for Members of the IEEE Signal Processing Society
The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) Publications group is pleased to announce the launch of the IEEE SPS Author Survey. This automated survey is being delivered to the corresponding authors when their articles are final and published on IEEE Xplore®. The survey, which launched in early June 2018, covers all SPS solely owned and/or managed publications, and has already received over 530 responses!
The IEEE SPS Author Survey is divided into four sections designed to gauge the author’s experience and journey through peer review, editorial and production, general SPS interaction, and to engage potential SPS members. The survey also asks about tools, services, and templates, such as ScholarOne Manuscripts, use of repositories like Code Ocean and IEEE DataPort®, quality of SPS staff support. It also asks pertinent questions such as: Why choose an SPS publication? Would you publish in an SPS publication again? Would you recommend an SPS publication to your colleagues? What are your opinions about open access? And, what SPS member benefits do you enjoy most?
SPS is happy to report that the results, so far, are overwhelmingly positive! SPS staff, products, tools, and services received high marks in all areas and categories. See some of the responses:
While the survey identifies areas of improvement, it’s comforting to know that we are on the right track with regard to understanding our authors’ and members’ essential needs. SPS is working hard to provide positive author and member experiences through their journey and interaction with SPS staff, products, tools, and services, all while offering comprehensive membership benefits.
So, we encourage you and your colleagues to submit articles to any of our premier SPS publications. And for membership, a new 2019 pricing incentive has been introduced: Students can Join SPS Now for $1 US and enjoy all of the SPS Essential benefits of membership!
