IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) annual election will commence on 15 August, and your vote is more important than ever! Beginning this year, all eligible SPS Members will now vote for the next President-Elect (term 1 January 2020 through 31 December 2021), in addition to the Regional Directors-at-Large for Regions 7 & 9 and 10 (term 1 January 2020 through 31 December 2021), and Members-at-Large (term 1 January 2020 through 31 December 2022) of the IEEE Signal Processing Society Board of Governors (BoG).

It is my pleasure to share my views for the Signal Processing Society (SPS) Chapters’ best practices. Before I begin, I want to describe my own personal experience as a volunteer. I started my journey as a Treasurer (2013-14) and then as the Chairman (2015-16) for SPS Chapter, Gujarat Section (GS).

SPS has several programs to support its growing network of Chapters and Student Branch Chapters. Student Branch Chapters, in particular, have seen tremendous growth since 2016, an increase of 126% over the past three years, driven primarily by Student surges in Region 10.
