Nominations Open for 2010 Major SPS Awards

The SPS Awards Board is now accepting nominations for 2010 major SPS awards. Each year, SPS honors outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions related to signal processing through the Society Award, the Technical Achievement Award, the Education Award, and the Meritorious Service Award. The Society also recognizes outstanding publications in SPS journals and magazines through Best Paper Awards, Young Author Best Paper Awards, Signal Processing Magazine Best Paper Award and Best Column Award. Eligibility for Best Paper Awards and Young Author Best Paper Awards are based on a five-year window, for the 2010 Awards, the paper must have appeared in one of the Society's Transactions between January 1, 2005 and December 31, 2009. Nominations for the Best Paper Awards and Young Author Best Paper Awards should come from the below Society journals: The award nominations, which are submitted to SPS Vice President-Awards and Membership, Michael D. Zoltowski <mikedz@ecn.purdue.edu>, will be vetted by the appropriate technical committees (TCs). Prospective nominators are encouraged to submit nominations well in advance of the deadline of 1 October 2010, and check with relevant TCs for their vetting deadlines.
