Dear Members,

- Are you an IEEE member, IEEE student member, IEEE graduate student member or IEEE young professional member?

- Do you know one or more 12-18 year old students from within your family, friendship circle, or local school who is
interested in engineering, computing, or technology?

- Do you want to help students inspire others to learn more about these disciplines by creating an animation?

Mentor one or more students today in the IEEE Spark Innovation through Animation Competition!

IEEE Fellow is the highest grade of membership of the IEEE. It honors members with an outstanding record of technical achievements, contributing importantly to the advancement or application of engineering, science and technology, and bringing significant value to society. Around this time (end of November), the new class of IEEE Fellows is announced. Hopefully, the list contains many names familiar to you. If not, then perhaps it is a good idea to nominate someone yourself!

Three new Members-at-Large will take their seats on the Signal Processing Society Board of Governors beginning 1 January 2015 and will serve until 31 December 2017. Nine candidates competed for the three Member-at-Large positions. The successful candidates represent a broad spectrum of the Signal Processing Society. The Board of Governors will confirm the election results at their December Board meeting.

IEEE Sections Congress 2014 (SC2014) was held 22-24 August 2014, at the RAI Convention Centre in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The SC2014 theme was "Inspiring Our Leaders of Tomorrow," and attendees had opportunities to attend Breakout Sessions, Learning Labs, and Ignite Sessions. The exhibit hall had over 40 exhibitors, as well as poster sessions and special student projects on display.

The e-Membership program started as a pilot in 2011. The intent of the pilot was to test the impact of substantially reduced dues on membership recruitment and retention in countries where the per capita gross domestic product is US$15,000 or less. Data has shown that there was no significant increase on recruitment or retention during this period.
