The Latest News, Articles, and Events in Signal Processing

Dr. Mariane R. Petraglia graduated (Magna Cum Laude) in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Electronics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in 1985. She obtained the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1988 and 1991, respectively.

To address rapidly growing interest in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) for signal processing and data science, the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) is launching a new special series on AI in Signal & Data Science, to be published within the IEEE Journal on Selected Topic in Signal Processing (JSTSP).

IEEE SPS has built a streamlined mechanism for employers to add a job announcement by simply filling in a simple job opportunity submission Web form related to a particular TC field. To submit job announcements for a particular Technical Committee, the submission form can be found by visiting the page below and selecting a particular TC.

The IEEE Signal Processing Society is seeking nominations for future leaders! Nominations for several SPS leadership roles are open now, and we are now soliciting for the following roles with terms beginning 1 January 2024.

The Signal Processing Society (SPS) has 12 Technical Committees that support a broad selection of signal processing-related activities defined by the scope of the Society.

Princeton and Weizmann

Joint postdoc position between Princeton University and the Weizmann Institute at the intersection of signal processing, communications, and biomedical applications. The work will be performed with the groups of Profs. Andrea Goldsmith and Yonina Eldar.  Background in one or more of the above areas required with the desire to expand into the other areas. The candidate is expected to spend time in both locations, working with collaborative and supportive teams.

Mid Sweden University

The research group, Communication Systems and Networks (CSN), has one open postdoc position and we are now looking for a talented postdoctoral researcher in the area of experimental research for time-critical remote-controlled applications in 5G-and-Beyond to join our team and help us fulfil the project's goals, producing quality research and collaborate with external project partners in Swedish ICT industry.

The IEEE Signal Processing Society Kerala Chapter's most remarkable sponsorship track event, Hub Meets were conducted. As a part of the Hub Meets, the Young Professionals team of SPS KC had informative sessions at respective colleges. They provided a clear understanding of opportunities of being an SPS member.

The IEEE Signal Processing Society is happy to announce the addition of twenty-six new Chapters formed in 2022. We welcome the following SPS Chapters and wish them great success in their future activities and events.

Radial sampling pattern is an important signal acquisition strategy in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) owing to better immunity to motion-induced artifacts and less pronounced aliasing due to undersampling compared to the Cartesian sampling.
