One Post Doctoral and Three Ph.D. Fellowships at University of Oslo, Norway

In the research group of Professor Are Hjørungnes, the following positions are open.

  • One post doctoral fellowship for one year contract with the possibility of extension for up-to three years (depending on the motivation and results achieved during the first year);
  • Three Ph.D. fellowships, each of three years duration, under the supervision of Dr. Are Hjørungnes.

The areas of the research for all positions are signal processing, wireless communications, information theory, and mathematics. The candidates will work at UNIK - University Graduate Center and the Ph.D. students will receive the Ph.D. degree from University of Oslo. Startup and Deadline : Applicants are encouraged to apply at their earliest convenience. The deadline for the application is 15th of March 2011. The startup date is flexible and should chosen by the candidate in consultation with Are Hjørungnes. Currently, Are Hjørungnes is on a sabbatical, but will be back in Norway in mid July 2011. If possible, the startup date should be around mid July 2011.

How to Apply : Applicants must submit official academic records for their bachelor, masters, and Ph.D. (for the Post Doctoral Fellowship position) education, and a complete publication list. It is a requirement to hold a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree for being considered for the Post Doctoral Fellowship position. At least three academic references (name, position, e-mail, and telephone number) should be included in the application. Applicants should submit their applications electronically to arehj@unik.no.
