The IEEE Biometrics Council is proud to announce that the edition of its newsletter for Summer 2012 is now available. It contains a number of updates on biometric conferences/workshops and other IEEE activities related to biometrics. Namely, this edition of the newsletter contains:

• an interview of Giuseppe Dutra Janino (Tribunal Superior Eleitoral, Brazil) who discusses a project to automatically verify about 190 million citizens’ during the 2018 elections using their fingerprints;
