News and Resources for Members of the IEEE Signal Processing Society
The IEEE SPS Italy Chapter Summer School on Signal Processing, cosponsored by IEEE Signal Processing Society Italy Chapter and by National Telecommunications and Information Technologies Group - GTTI, is intended to take advantage of the presence on site of Italian and International experts in the Signal Processing domain to provide students an insight on some basic general issues of wide use. In addition, the school focuses the attention on one advanced selected signal processing topic, called Special Track, yearly selected by a Steering Committee formed by academic and industrial italian SPS members on the basis of most recent trends and developments in SPS research. In this First Edition, the school will have an excellent group of eight speakers including three IEEE SPS Distinguished Lecturers, and the 2013 Special Track will be on Multimedia Forensics, with the support of the European Project REWIND. Attendants will have the opportunity to learn and study innovative algorithms and systems in the signal processing area, in an interactive and stimulating way: each day, after the lectures, the speakers will be available for face-to-face discussion with students (and not only) who are interested in deepening some of the issues covered in the talks. Students will have the possibility to present their work so to let the other participants and lecturers know their research activity in a demo/poster session. To earn credits, the students will be assigned some homeworks suggested by all the speakers and then reviewed by the Steering Committee. The Venue has been chosen to stimulate the interaction between the students and the speakers. Residence Borgo degli Olivi is located in the area of Val di Cornia, a peninsula on the Costa degli Etruschi in western Tuscany, between Livorno and Grosseto, a place rich in art, history, tradition and nature. This venue is a few km from some of the most beautiful and famous beaches (FEE Blue Flag) of Tuscany, like Baratti Beach and Sterpaia Park, and just in front of the seven jewels of Tuscan archipelago. Registration deadline: June 1st, 2013
