Bumblis, an IEEE Senior Member and retired associate professor of computer engineering, guides members on developing career paths in electrical and computer engineering. This e-book is available 1 December to 15 January.

IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) is pleased to announce upcoming events and opportunities:

International Leadership Conference (WIE ILC)

IEEE Collabratec™ is an integrated online community where technology professionals can network, collaborate, and discover career opportunities.

Log into IEEE Collabratec to get started with the Opportunities features:

With help from members in Region 10, a new app to help IEEE members identify IEEE events or conferences has been released. The app will use the geolocation feature of the user's phone to identify events happening nearby.

Using the search functionality allows the user to find events by:

New Cyber Security eLearning Courses: The IEEE eLearning Library provides the advanced technology content only IEEE can provide through convenient, multimedia-based online courses. With more than 400 courses in communications, computing, engineering, power, professional development, and dozens of other core and emerging technologies, the IEEE eLearning Library gives technology professionals, students, and faculty a better way to learn. Recently added courses include coverage of hot topics in cyber security, including:

As a special benefit to IEEE members for the month of October, IEEE-USA E-Books will offer “Shaping an Engineering Career--Book 3/Vol. 2: Advancing to Management.” Author Alan C. Tribble explains the different types of management jobs, (e.g., engineering management, program management, business development management, etc.) that are typical career-growth opportunities for engineers. He offers advice on how to work within an organization, as well as specific recommendations for technical personnel preparing to transition to management This e-book is available 1 October to 15 November.

IEEE Section Chairs and Section Membership Development Chairs receive a monthly email notification regarding newly joined members in your Section. The current list of new members (those who joined in the past 30 days) is available through SAMIEEE, your volunteer analytics tool. The report provides member contact information: name, mailing address, email address, phone number, type of membership (traditional, e-membership), Societies joined, grade, and reasons for joining IEEE.

IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) is pleased to announce upcoming events, leadership summits, and opportunities:

What are things that all EEs know? What is the commonality of training and experience that holds us together as a profession, and how is it changing? What will it mean to be an EE in the future? Read about Robert W. Lucky's article “The ever-evolving field of electrical engineering” published in IEEE Spectum,

As a special benefit to IEEE members for the month of August, IEEE-USA E-Books will offer “Shaping an Engineering Career – Book 3 - Volume 1: Advancing to Management.” In his review of career management, author Siri Varadan presents a useful and imaginative insight into how young engineers can begin to address career aspirations.
