The Signal Processing Society (SPS) has 12 technical committees and two Special Interest Groups (SIGs) that support a broad selection of signal processing related activities defined by the scope of the Society. Technical Committees and SIGs are actively involved in awards, conferences, publications, and educational activities, and provide technical advice to the Society’s leadership.

The mission of the Information Forensics and Security Technical Committee (IFS TC) is to promote activities within the broad technical areas of information forensics and security. The main activities addressed this year were the outcomes of the first IEEE Image Forensics Challenge, the organization and future organization of the two IFS workshops WIFS’14 and WIFS’15, and the nomination of the next IEEE TIFS Editor in Chief.

The IEEE Biometrics Council is proud to announce that the Spring 2014 edition of its newsletter is now available. It contains a number of updates on biometric conferences/workshops and other IEEE activities related to biometrics

The Summer 2014 edition of the IEEE Speech and Language Processing Technical Committee’s Newsletter is now online. It includes a number of announcements from the TC chair, as well as a number of articles collated by the editorial boarded

The DISPS TC has the mission to promote and support activities of the IEEE Signal Processing Society in the areas of: i) design, development and implementation of signal processing systems; ii) design of algorithms with implementation in mind and iii) design of software tools and methodologies to support the design of signal processing systems.

The Machine Learning for Signal Processing Technical Committee (MLSP TC) is involved with activities that support the use of Machine Learning techniques for Signal Processing problems.

The Signal Processing for Communications and Networking Technical Committee (SPCOM TC) promotes activities addressing signal processing challenges in communications and networking.

The Industry Digital Signal Processing Technology Standing Committee (IDSP-SC) promotes emerging signal processing applications and industry technologies and also encourages industry participation in the IEEE Signal Processing Society.

The Signal Processing Theory and Methods Technical Committee (SPTM TC) of the IEEE Signal Processing Society (IEEE-SPS) promotes activities within the technical areas of DSP and statistical signal processing theory and methods.
