News and Resources for Members of the IEEE Signal Processing Society
The IEEE Workshop on Applications of Signal Processing to Audio and Acoustics (WASPAA) is a highly-regarded bi-annual event hosted by the Audio and Acoustic Signal Processing Technical Committee (AASP-TC) of the IEEE Signal Processing Society since 1986. This two-and-a-half day workshop is devoted to reviewing the current state of the art as well as recent advances in signal processing with emphasis on its applications to audio and acoustics.
This year marks a historic change, as for the first time since its founding, the workshop relocates. We are delighted to announce that WASPAA has found a new home for 2025, and that the next WASPAA will be held from October 12th to October 15th, 2025 at the Granlibakken Tahoe Resort near Lake Tahoe, in Tahoe City, CA.
The Lake Tahoe area is known for its outstanding beauty, which does not pale in comparison to WASPAA’s former home on the East coast. We hope that this new location will successfully reproduce the beloved atmosphere that has characterized WASPAA since its inception, with an intimate setting that encourages fruitful conversations between leading researchers in audio and acoustic signal processing from both academia and industry. Although smaller in scale compared to flagship conferences such as ICASSP, WASPAA remains a must-attend event for anyone in this research community.
As usual, WASPAA will cover a broad range of topics, including source separation and enhancement, audio and speech generation, spatial audio, analysis of acoustic scenes and events, bioacoustics, music signal processing, audio security and privacy, speech and audio coding, and hearing and perception.
For more information on participating and submitting a paper to WASPAA, please check the WASPAA website and the Call for Papers. Submission deadline is April 23, 2025, with paper updates allowed until April 30, 2025 (AoE).
