ICASSP 2012 - An Invitation to Kyoto

Hideaki Sakai
Co-General Chair of ICASSP2012

37th IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing (ICASSP 2012) will be held at the Kyoto International Conference Center from March 25 to 30, 2012. ICASSP is the flagship conference of the IEEE Signal Processing Society and has received about 2700 paper submissions this year. 1350 papers will be selected for presentation at the conference, in addition to invited papers which will be presented in 12 special sessions. These will cover the latest developments in all the fields related to signal processing. This year's conference will feature four plenary talks by leading experts on audio, speech, mathematics, and brain science and 15 tutorials in various areas of signal processing.

Kyoto was the capital of Japan between the years 794 AD and 1868 AD. Nearly everything that we now refer to as Japanese culture and tradition has its origins in Kyoto. Late March, which is when ICASSP is scheduled, is also the beginning of the famous cherry blossom season, which is marked by a festivities and a cheerful atmosphere in Kyoto.

The ICASSP General Chairs, Prof. Hideaki Sakai from Kyoto University, and Prof. Takao Nishitani from Tokyo Metropolitan University, invite you to participate in the conference program. For more information about the conference schedules, organization, travel and visa information please visit the conference website at http://www.icassp2012.com .
