Prof. Sadaoki Furui (Professor Emeritus, Tokyo Institute of Technology) is scheduled to give several talks in South America in November 2012. He will visit Ecuador and give a plenary talk "Automatic Speech Recognition: Trials, Tribulations and Triumphs" at Andescon, in Cuenca (see link below) in Nov. 7. There will be also talks in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in Nov. 9 (same as in Cuenca), and in São Paulo, Brazil in Nov. 12 ("Data-Intensive ASR Based on Machine Learning).
